⚙️ Setup & Reference — Series 1 of 4
The NP Matrix suite consists of up to 5 WordPress plugins. They must be installed in a specific order to avoid dependency errors. NP Core must always be activated first — it provides shared services that the other plugins depend on.
Plugin Install Order
| # | Plugin | Required? | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | NP Core | ✅ Always | Shared services — install and activate before everything else |
| 2 | NP 3D Viewer | ✅ For 3D | Embeds the WebGL viewer and manages model assignments |
| 3 | NP Variation Wizard | Optional | Guided multi-step product configurator |
| 4 | NP Design Saver | Optional | Saves customer configurations for later retrieval |
| 5 | NP Product Registry UI | Optional | Admin UI for managing the product/model registry |
Installation Steps
- In WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
- Upload the
np-core.zipfile → click Install Now → Activate - Repeat for each additional plugin you’re installing, in the order above
- Confirm WooCommerce is active — all NP Matrix plugins require it
⚠️ Activation order matters. If you activate NP 3D Viewer before NP Core, you’ll see a dependency error. Always activate NP Core first.
ℹ️ WooCommerce required. The NP Matrix plugins are WooCommerce extensions. WooCommerce must be installed and activated before any NP plugin is activated.
Confirming Successful Installation
- After activation, NP 3D Viewer appears in the WordPress left sidebar
- NP Variation Wizard also appears in the sidebar
- On any product edit page, the NexPoint 3D Configurator metabox appears below the content editor
